Born in the late 1960s in Wyoming, Rocky Mountain Featherbed (RMFB) has always been rooted in cold-weather functionality and a deep respect for craftsmanship. These core values continue to define the brand today.
This coat is a reimagined piece based on two iconic U.S. military garments—the M65 field jacket and the M51 parka. RMFB has reinterpreted the classic design with a modern sensibility, making it more versatile and suitable for everyday city life. The fabric is a rare deadstock poplin manufactured in the United States between the late 1970s and mid-1980s. Subtle fold lines and the unique texture from decades of storage add a genuine vintage charm.
The silhouette follows the M51’s signature A-line, offering both style and functionality. Large waist pockets and detailed cuff construction remain true to its military roots.
The coat’s standout feature is the removable down liner. Filled with RMFB’s high-quality European down (700 fill power), it provides exceptional warmth and can also be worn on its own. The vibrant orange color adds a bold accent to any fall or winter outfit.

Due to the nature of down feathers, some feather leakage may occur as breathability is necessary.
If feathers come through the fabric, do not pull them out forcibly. Instead, gently push them back inside from the reverse side.

This product uses natural leather with “natural marks,” preserving the material’s unique texture.
Color variations, scratches, and wrinkles may appear and are characteristics of genuine leather, adding to its charm.
Edges of leather parts may slightly lift as part of the design.
If the leather feels dry or stiff, we recommend using leather care cream to maintain softness and extend its life.
